Two Australian Indigenous Education Foundation scholarship alumni attended the Australian Women’s Weekly ‘Women of the Future’ Awards in Sydney this week.

Sarah Treacy and Kygim King were among the gathering at the Art Gallery of NSW, who met and heard from many inspiring women including Peta Credlin, Jesinta Campbell and Turia Pitt.

Speaking to The Australian, Ms Treacy, said that she

…would love to be a leader to my community in indigenous education.

In the third year of a primary teaching degree at Macquarie University, Sarah hopes to lift education standards in remote communities.

My dream is to get my masters under my belt, work in remote NSW and then move back to the remote Kimberly region to teach in community.
