A group of Aboriginal women from South Australia’s remote APY Lands have realised their dream of becoming teachers.
Eight women from the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands earned teaching qualifications from the University of South Australia’s AnTEP (Anangu Tertiary Education Program).
Each of them already works as an Anangu education worker in a school on the Lands, but for three of the women who each earned a Bachelor of Teaching (Anangu Education), it means they can teach their own class in a school in their home community for the first time.
