Career Development Association of Australia logoSixteen ‘Follow my Lead’ career counselling workshops with an Indigenous focus will be delivered in focus regions throughout Australia in 2015.

The aim of these workshops is to to increase the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders considering teaching as a career choice. The workshops will be delivered by the Career Development Association of Australia (CDAA), in partnership with MATSITI.

The workshops are being tailored to meet key outcomes of the project, including delivering career services for a diverse client group and incorporating role modelling in career development activities.

A webinar on the 23rd February provided information on how CDAA will use the workshops to develop mentors for students (see the Career counselling presentation below), and context for the project via MATSITI research on the current numbers of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander teachers (see the MATSITI overview presentation).
