NAIDOC week logoThis year it was Adelaide’s turn to host the National NAIDOC Awards Ceremony and Ball and a number of the MATSITI team, including Professor Peter Buckskin, Project Director, took the opportunity to attend.

The Awards were hosted at the Adelaide Convention Centre and attended by over 1200 guests. Guests included Kaurna Elders (the traditional owners), the South Australian community, federal and state politicians and high profile Indigenous affairs identities.

Earlier in the week MATSITI associate Emeritus Professor Paul Hughes AM, FACE was honoured with the inaugral Life Time Achievement Award at the South Australian NAIDOC Awards.

Dr Kaye Price is research lead on MATSITI and 3Rs projects with a lifetime commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education.
