RATEP 2012 graduates at the awards ceremony, 22 November 2012

On 22 November, in front of family and community members, fifty Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people graduated their studies with RATEP at Tropical North Queensland TAFE in Cairns.

Nine high school students from around the state graduated the Certificate III in Education, thirty students (predominantly Teacher Aides) graduated the Certificate IV in Education and eleven students were awarded the Diploma of Education.

2012 Australian Awards for University Teaching

RATEP provides studies for Indigenous people who wish to become registered teachers.

Starting with the Cert III delivered in selected senior schools across Queensland, RATEP supports any Indigenous person desiring a career in the classroom by delivering studies directly to the community in which they live.
