Five Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander principals will be eligible for support and scholarships for career and leadership development through the Stronger Smarter Leadership Program (SSLP).
The project is a collaboration between the Stronger Smarter Institute and the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Principals Association supported by the Australian Education Union.
The scholarships will allow the successful recipients to participate in a national 12 month SSLP. The program includes a 5 day professional learning program, held in Cherbourg, Queensland; a 2 day workshop, held in Brisbane; and regular contact with the project team, including Dr Chris Sarra.
The program is facilitated by Stronger Smarter Institute staff with presentations from school and community leaders. It has been described as intense, stimulating, challenging and full of humour and personal involvement.
This initiative is supported by MATSITI following a call for expressions of interest in July 2014, and will conclude at the end of 2015.
