Strong TeachersStrong Teachers is a NT Department of Education and Children’s Services initiative to  celebrate the learning journey of Indigenous educators who have completed their fourth year of teaching qualifications through the Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education (BIITE) Program.

Strong Teachers provides examples of effective teaching and learning experiences for students, how to design and implement engaging teaching programs and how to actively participate in the profession and collaborate with colleagues.

The digital stories of 12 teachers will be published as an ebook and mapped to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers later in 2013.

Strong Teachers is also a MATSITI milestone as the 100th news posting on our website – Strong Teachers is a powerful symbol and marker of the work to increase the number and capacity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander teachers in Australian schools.
