University of Tasmania logo40 Indigenous Year 12 students are encouraged to seriously consider teaching as a profession by experiencing a ‘hands on’ approach to the Faculty of Education’s teacher education courses at the University of Tasmania.

The Tunapri teaching program is supported by MATSITI and will conclude at the end of 2015.

Tunapri Teaching – To Know Teaching (‘Tunapri’ Pallawa-Kani language ‘to teach, to know’)

The students will receive an overview of all courses and then a more developed insight based on their interest area (e.g. primary teacher or a health and physical education teacher). Parents/caregivers are also invited to participate.

The program will include talks by lecturers and current students and the propspective students will receive  information about support services, library services, accommodation, study options, salaries, clubs and gym facilities.
